£3,200 Raised in Annual Curry Night Event

The fifth annual ‘Curry Night’ held in Yorkshire raised £3,200 for The Furniture Makers’ Company. The charity supports the UK’s furniture industry by helping businesses, workers and the education of the next generation of workers.

Over 100 people attended that evening at Aagrah Midpoint in Bradford. Special speakers at the event included Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin and David Woodward, Head of The Furniture Makers’ Company.

Key talking points of the night included progress after the pandemic, moving towards greener practices and providing jobs for young people. The night was topped off with a raffle, adding to the grand total of money that was raised for the charity.

Shire Beds’ Sales and Marketing Director Fara Butt as Chairman of the Yorkshire Region of the Furniture Makers’ Company played a key role in the preparations and hosting of the Curry Night.

Mayor Brabin of West Yorkshire’s keynote vision for manufacturing was inspiring. The event is one of the first since the removal of all restrictions and was well attended and enjoyed by all at the legendary Aagrah Midpoint. Through the generosity of attendees £3,200 was raised.”
