The Shire Bed Company was founded in 1997 and we pride ourselves in manufacturing the best possible mattresses, bases and headboards using the finest materials and experienced crafters. Our goal is to provide the highest of quality at exceptional value.
We service three main sectors – contract, high-street (domestic) and the internet trade.
Our beds are proudly made in Britain, we offer high quality products tailored that can be personalised to your specification. We believe good design is a necessity, not a luxury, and quality needn’t be expensive. To you, that means a well-made, very comfortable, great value bed. A Shire bed.
Our family-run company is built on a good, solid and very British principle; if a job’s worth doing it’s worth doing well. We believe in family, in community, in having one foot in the past and one striding for the future.
We offer bespoke bed manufacturing, providing you with high quality products tailored and personalised to your specification. Our bed ranges have options to include features such as drawers, sprung edge bases, castors or leg fixtures, special sizes and a range of headboards.

Shire Beds is a multi award winning bed manufacturer. We were awarded the Best of British at The Furniture Awards 2022, declared winner of the prestigious Product of the Year at the NBF Awards 2021 for The Shire Signature Collection and were pronounced runner up with The Artisan Constable in 2019.
From a cottage industry started from scratch in 1997, we have become an award-winning British brand in 2021. With a good night’s sleep at the fore of our product development, our products have been recognised for their excellence.
