Shire Beds is committed to high standards in its practices within its factory by undergoing quality and ethical product and process audits with SMETA and NBF. We are also ISO 9001 certified.
As a company we play an active role in the bed manufacturing industry. Fara Butt, Director of Shire Beds, is a board member of the NBF and chairs its Marketing Committee and also chairs the Yorkshire regional committee of The Furniture Makers.
Each year, Shire Beds host The Furniture Maker’s annual Curry Night established in 2016, to raises money for the Furniture Maker’s Charity.
We are committed to being a socially and ethically community partner. We have been involved in supporting local community projects, national events and international projects including the below:
• Local food bank
• Mirfield show
• Wakefield Playhouse
Shire Beds responded to the Grenfell Disaster by providing relief mattresses.
Shire Beds partnerships with world class teams namely Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Leeds Rhinos lead to the Sleep 4 Sports project that advised elite sports personalities on support products enabling better sleep for recovery.
Shire Beds supports the homeless. It provides mattresses to Leeds Crypt to enable them to provide shelter and a bed to homeless people during the festive season of Christmas.
Shire Beds takes part in ‘The Big Sleep’ event. Its donation of a bed for The Big Sleep 2019 raised over £3,000 with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation for The Leeds Crypt and St Gemma’s Hospice.
Shire Beds has been a major donor in the building of training for the women’s empowerment charity Savayra Foundation in Pakistan.
